Martina Franca is one of the most important cities of the Itria Valley (the area is known for its stone houses with conical roofs, called trulli). You will visit the city center of this lively city with its typical baroque palaces and churches, the sumptuous Ducal Palace with its rooms adorned with frescoes and its folk traditions museum. We will discover the legend of St. Martin’s cloak and the beggar.
You will learn more about the processing techniques. We recommend a tasting of the local delicacies: Capocollo di Martina (a DOP Apulian salami similar to a smoked ham) and some local salami.
At the end of the tour you could also visit Cisternino: a picturesque hamlet awarded with the Orange Flag (a recognition for the quality of tourism and the environment in small inland towns) by the Italian Touring Club. Cisternino is worth a visit. You could stroll through the narrow streets and admire its whitewashed houses, the clock tower and the parish church with one of the most prestigious Apulian renaissance sculpture: the Madonna of the Goldfinch, 1517.

All of our afternoon tours start at 14.30 and have a duration of 4 hours.
We also offer full day tours starting at 9.30 with a duration of 8 hours. Our full day tours include a visit of Martina Franca and Cisternino.
An English Speaking Driver is not a guide. He will drive you during your journey, helping you to enjoy the experience of seeing the sights close-up. He will give you general information and take care of the practical details of your day itinerary by contacting your local guide, restaurant and escorting you safely to your hotel or cruise-ship after a day trip.
A local Guide is the acknowledged expert of the area you are visiting. He has an in depth knowledge of the subject and can illustrate archaeological areas, museums and other places of interest in your language and with great clarity. We strongly advise you to hire a local guide for a thematic tour.
We offer half day tours with an English speaking tour guide and a driver escort. Please let us know, if you would like to focus on history, art, culture, architecture or food and wine.
